COLUMBUS, Ind. – The 6th Street Arts Alley was born from years of grassroots effort and persistence, conceptualized one small step at a time.
The Columbus Area Arts Council (CAAC) is asking the community to help develop its next chapter. Residents will work hand-in-hand with local artists and volunteers.
CAAC is looking for individuals to bring Street Drawing #2 to life, a bold new ground mural designed by LAA Office for the upcoming Arts Alley Parklet.
This is your chance to be part of something joyful, community-built, and unforgettable. Volunteers will paint a single line stretching from curb to curb, helping shape a vibrant new space in downtown Columbus.
Public paint days are Saturday, May 17, and Sunday, May 18. Sign up to help paint Street Drawing #2 at the 6th Street Arts Alley here.
Here are the volunteer qualifications:
- No artistic experience needed
- Ages 18 and over ( youths, 14 to 17 years old, may join with an adult)
- Space is limited; sign-ups are on a first-come, first-served basis
- You should be able to chalk a line on the ground and use a paint roller mounted on a pole
