NORTH VERNON, Ind. – The Jennings County Public Library (JCPL) invites the community to its summer reading storytime series for 2025.
Throughout the summer, JCPL’s WOW (Words on Wheels) Bus will make several stops in North Vernon and Jennings County, where a prominent community leader will read a book for kids in attendance.
The first stop of the summer is set for next Thursday, May 29, at the North Vernon Police Department for story time with NVPD Chief Messer at 10:30 a.m.
After the story, attendees can visit the WOW Bus, pick up a craft, or sign up for library cards/summer reading.
The rest of the summer schedule includes the following stops:
- May 30: Mayor Shawn Gerkin, City Hall at 2 p.m.
- June 13: North Vernon Kiwanis, Muscatatuck Park at 2 p.m.
- June 16: Fire Chief Mike Cole, North Vernon Fire Department at 11 a.m.
- June 27: Judge Ellie Bright, Vernon Courthouse at 10:30 a.m.
- July 8: Jennings County EMS, Jennings County Public Library at 9 a.m.
