INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Department of Workforce Development (DWD) released the April unemployment rates for Bartholomew, Johnson, Jennings, and Jackson counties. They declined for the second straight month.
For Bartholomew County, the April rate was 2.8%, down from the 3.3% March rate. The county reported 38,843 employed residents out of a 39,952-person labor force.
Johnson County’s April rate was 2.4%, below the March rate of 2.8%. Employed workers totaled 86,918 from a possible 89,071.
The Jennings County rate for April was 2.9%, a decrease from March’s 3.5%. There were 14,695 workers out of a possible 15,135-person labor force.
Jackson County recorded an April unemployment rate of 2.5%, compared to the 3.0% registered last month. The county reported 22,763 employed residents out of a possible 23,436.
Indiana DWD officials also announced that the overall Hoosier unemployment rate for April was 3.0%, dropping from 3.4% in March.
