GREENWOOD, Ind – A suspect in connection with a series of apartment fires near the Greenwood Park Mall on Thursday, May 29, has been apprehended by the Greenwood Police Department.
The Greenwood Fire Department responded to three separate apartment fires, started in quick succession during the same hour and within one mile of each other. The complexes affected were Westminster Apartments (890 Parliament Pl.), Polo Run Apartments (923 Kings Mill Rd.), and Auburn Place Apartments (780 Woodale Tce.).
Arson was suspected due to the nature and timeline of the fires, and their proximity to each other.
Video camera footage was recovered, and the suspect, 50-year-old Ronnie B. Brasher, was located and arrested at the Greenwood Public Library. Brasher has a last known address in Carmel, but is believed to be homeless at this time.
Brasher was taken to Johnson County Jail and initially charged with three counts of Level 4 Arson.
