JACKSON COUNTY, Ind. – The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office and the Indiana State Police (ISP) are looking for Jeremiah Bragg, 36, who most recently lived in Jackson County. Bragg failed to appear for a court hearing on Tuesday following his February 2024 arrest just outside of Brownstown.
The suspect allegedly walked into the Jackson County Bank Branch in Brownstown, pointed a firearm at employees, left with cash, and fled in a vehicle.
The Brownstown Police Department and Jackson County Sheriff’s Office stopped the vehicle on Vallonia Road. He reportedly exited the car holding a handgun and the money, but then dropped the firearm and was arrested.
ISP detectives led the investigation. Bragg was ultimately booked for 13 felonies, with the most severe charges being a Level 3 Felony Armed Robbery and three counts of Level 3 Felony Criminal Confinement while armed with a deadly weapon.
If anyone knows the whereabouts of Jeremiah Bragg, contact the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office at 812-358-2141 or the Indiana State Police-Versailles Post at 812-689-5000.
Anyone who is found to have been assisting the fugitive while he is wanted on these serious accusations could also potentially face criminal charges.
The charges are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
