CROTHERSVILLE, Ind. – Indiana State Police (ISP) Trooper Tia Hunt was patrolling on US 31 near Crothersville in southern Jackson County on Friday when she came upon a UPS driver who had stopped along the road.
The driver told the trooper that while traveling US 31, he observed a motorist throw a small kitten out of the car’s window. The UPS driver said he “just couldn’t continue driving without stopping to check on the kitten,” who he believed was injured while striking the road.
Trp. Hunt and the driver soon located the kitten in the ditch. The feline was injured, so the ISP trooper immediately took to the Jackson County Animal Clinic in Seymour.
The staff took X-rays, examined him, and determined the kitty had some road rash and an injured leg, but should recover. He was discharged with some medicine.
After their long day together, Trp. Hunt and Crash (the cat) were good pals, and he will now live out his days safe from cruel people with Trp. Hunt’s family.
If anyone knows who may have “lost” a cute kitten while traveling in that area today, I’m sure Trp. Hunt would love to pay them a visit to show them how Crash is doing.
