COLUMBUS, Ind. — Cummins Engine Company, Inc. and the Columbus Fire Department (CFD) will conduct a joint training exercise from 8 to 11 a.m. Thursday, June 26, at the Cummins Plant at 1500 Central Ave.
The training is part of Cummins’ ongoing commitment to enhancing emergency response capabilities and ensuring robust business continuity planning. By partnering with CFD, Cummins aims to strengthen emergency preparedness and response strategies to safeguard its employees and the surrounding community.
This functional exercise will feature realistic emergency scenarios, enabling Cummins’ emergency response team and Columbus Fire Department personnel to practice and refine their coordinated response efforts. Collaboration between the public and private sectors enhances operational readiness and fosters cooperation and mutual support.
During the exercise, community members may notice an increased presence of first responders near Plant 1. This visibility is part of the planned activities and should not be a cause for concern.
