NORTH VERNON, Ind. – The North Vernon Police Department (NVPD) arrested a Jennings County man for alleged intimidation and drug charges on Sunday night, June 29.
At approximately 10:30 p.m., while officers were at that location for an unrelated call outside of the North Vernon Walmart on North State Highway 3, Troy Lewis, 58, allegedly verbally threatened officers.
When the on-duty sergeant approached Lewis to detain him for intimidation and place him in handcuffs, the suspect pulled away. The man continued to resist arrest before being taken into custody. NVPD supposedly found marijuana on his person.
Lewis was jailed on charges of:
- Resisting law enforcement
- Disorderly conduct
- Possession of marijuana
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
