COLUMBUS, Ind. – Our Hospice is committed to honoring and supporting veterans throughout their end-of-life journey.
At a recent “We Honor Veterans” (WHV) pinning ceremony held at Traditions of Columbus, Bob Haddad, Sr., was recognized by his family, friends, and Our Hospice staff for his dedication to and his service in the United States Armed Forces.
The ceremony was led by retired U.S. Air Force Major General Mark Pillar, who presented Bob with a commemorative pin. Bob was surrounded by family, including cousins who traveled from out of state.
As part of the national WHV initiative, Our Hospice provides specialized end-of-life care that addresses the unique physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of veterans. The program connects veteran-to-veteran volunteers, develops individualized care plans, and holds public recognition ceremonies, ensuring every veteran’s service is acknowledged.
In addition to a pin, each honored veteran receives a handcrafted wooden plaque made by local high school students in the C4 program. It’s more than just a block of wood—it’s a lasting symbol of appreciation and respect for the men and women who have safeguarded the country’s freedoms.
