SEYMOUR, Ind. – The Seymour Fire Department is hosting a “Push-In” ceremony at Station 3 at 605 Meadowbrook Dr. in Seymour on Tuesday evening, July 15.
This event celebrates the arrival and commissioning of the new Ladder 3 firetruck. It’s both a symbolic and community-centered ceremony rooted in firefighting history.
Many modern fire departments practice the tradition of ceremonially pushing a new firetruck into the bay during its dedication. It dates back to the 1800s when firefighters had to manually push the heavy wagons back into the firehouse.
The “Push-In” ceremony is open to the public and starts at 6:30 p.m.
