NORTH VERNON, Ind. – Centra Credit Union’s Internal Audit and Risk Management teams recently supported Wayside Inn, a temporary shelter for those in need, in North Vernon with $1,000 in donations as part of the Centra Foundation’s Pay It Forward campaign in Jennings County.
Pay It Forward empowers Centra’s Team Members to lead mini-service projects in groups that support local nonprofits.
As a financial institution rooted in the credit union philosophy of People Helping People, Centra actively seeks new ways to give its Team Members more opportunities to give back in unique and meaningful ways.
Centra is proud to provide these donations to help Wayside Inn further its mission. “We appreciate the donations we get from local businesses like Centra and the community,” Board President of Wayside Inn Stephanie Sentz said. “It’s what keeps our shelters running and enables us to provide things for our residents.”
The Centra Foundation’s Pay It Forward campaign gives Centra and its Team Members another opportunity to live out their vision of creating value for each other, their Members, and the Communities they serve. In the second quarter of 2025, more than 125 Team Members volunteered their time, and a total of $10,000 was donated back to the communities Centra serves.
Thanks to Centra’s success in 2024, the Credit Union was able to provide an additional $166,000 to the Centra Foundation. The Foundation will then allocate a total of $30,000 across 60 teams in 2025 to “Pay It Forward” in the communities it serves.
