JENNINGS COUNTY, Ind. – Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) contractor 5 Star Company, Inc. is scheduled to close State Road 3 over an unnamed tributary to Sand Creek on or after Wednesday, August 6, to complete a small structure replacement project in Jennings County.
The closure is between W. County Road 725N and E. County Road 800N, about over four miles north of U.S. 50. State Road 3 is expected to reopen in mid-September.
During the closure, motorists should use the official detour route, which follows U.S. 50 to U.S. 31 to S.R. 46.
This six-week INDOT project is part of a $1.7 million contract awarded in December 2024.
Drivers should slow down, use caution, and avoid distractions when traveling in and near work zones. All work is weather-dependent, and schedules are subject to change.
