FRANKLIN, Ind. – The Indiana Ultimate Farmers Market contest returned for its third year this summer, and the results were recently announced. And, the winner is (drumroll, please) … The Franklin Farmers Market.
The competition, sponsored by “Indiana Grown” and the Indiana State Department of Agriculture, gives statewide recognition to hometown markets. There were 27 counties represented in the 2025 contest, and the Franklin Farmers Market in Johnson County came out on top.
“Indiana’s Ultimate Farmers Market allows communities to support their local farmers market by voting for their favorite,” said Caroline Patrick, Indiana Grown Program director. “It’s a way for consumers to champion their hometown markets and help others discover Indiana-grown products.”
A spokesperson for the Franklin Farmers Market said, “We are so thankful to all of you that voted and so happy for everyone that works to make this market truly the best in the state. Thank you to our wonderful volunteers, staff, vendors, musicians, sponsors, and the City of Franklin for hosting our market in the amphitheater area. We are humbled and honored to win this prestigious award after placing second last year.”
