COLUMBUS, Ind. – Local children’s museum, kidscommons, is celebrating its 20th anniversary with a free, community block party in October. This special milestone event, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. on Friday, October 3, in downtown Columbus, between 3rd and 4th Streets, will feature hands-on activities, live performances, music, and more.
One highlight is a Touch-a-Truck experience with the Columbus Fire Department, Columbus Police Department, Toyota Material Handling, and Columbus Regional Health. There will also be an art program, STEM demonstrations, and local vendors offering interactive fun for all ages.
Families will have the opportunity to meet and take photos with beloved storybook characters, including Clifford the Big Red Dog, Paddington Bear, and Skippyjon Jones.
“We’re excited to celebrate two decades of creativity, curiosity, and community,” said kidscommons Executive Director Whitney Hartwell. “It is our way of saying thank you to the families, partners, and supporters who have helped us grow and inspire learning in Columbus for 20 years.”
Admission is free and open to the public; all are welcome to experience what makes kidscommons such a fun, safe, and inviting place for children and their caregivers. With a mission to nurture exploration, collaboration, and creativity, kidscommons continues to be a cornerstone of playful learning in the Columbus community.
