BARGERSVILLE, Ind. – Over the weekend, the Bargersville Police Department (BPD) publicly commended K9 Officer “Chase” and handler Officer Wheat on a great job of getting more drugs off the streets and out of the community.
BPD Officer Wheat initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of I-69 and SR 144 for a traffic violation last month. During the pullover, K9 Chase was deployed and alerted to the presence of narcotics in the vehicle.
During a subsequent search of the car, officers allegedly recovered 31 individually wrapped balloons containing heroin, weighing over 12 grams in total, along with a large amount of cash.
The driver, Anthony Caraway of Bedford, was arrested for Dealing in a Narcotic Drug Over 10 Grams, Possession of a Narcotic Drug Over 10 Grams, and Resisting Law Enforcement.
