COLUMBUS, Ind. – Heritage Fund of Bartholomew County announces online applications are now available for scholarships to be awarded in 2026. Completed applications are due on Jan. 30, 2026. A listing of scholarships, eligibility requirements, and a link to the application website are available at heritagefundbc.org, under Scholarships.
New and returning applicants should create an account through the online site to access applications. A convenient feature of the system is the eligibility match, which automatically applies students for those scholarships for which they have qualified. Applicants will receive a confirmation of those scholarships and any additional information required. Applicants should carefully review and answer all questions and eligibility statements correctly, as well as those included in the email confirmation following submission.
A combined application will be used by graduating seniors, undergraduate and graduate students, and medical/dental students. Complete eligibility requirements with application links and instructions are available at heritagefundbc.org/scholarships.
Heritage Fund awarded more than $850,000 in educational scholarships in 2025 to area students.
There are also music award opportunities available.
Online applications are open for the 2026 Brown Music Awards scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 14, 2026, at the Columbus Indiana Philharmonic’s Helen Haddad Hall. The annual awards are open to 10th- through 12th-grade instrumentalists and vocalists who are residents of Bartholomew County. Students will compete for scholarship funds that can be used toward music-related expenses that enhance musical growth. The first-place performer in each senior competition will receive a $3,500 award. Applications must be submitted by Dec. 12, 2025. For more information and to apply, go here.
The online application for the Patrick Bowman Memorial Music Fund is currently available to U.S. residents up to age 35 pursuing an education or career in music. Preference will be given to guitar players, songwriters, and/or country music performers whose music most closely aligns with Patrick’s style of traditional country music.
