JOHNSON COUNTY, Ind. – The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) reported that Johnson County Coroner Michael D. Pruitt has posted a $3000 bond to be released from the Brown County Jail on Wednesday at approximately 9:40 a.m.
The suspect turned himself in to authorities on Tuesday after Johnson Superior Court 3 charged Michael Pruitt with seven counts of Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor and seven counts of Furnishing Alcohol to a Minor in connection with allegations that he allegedly provided alcohol and cannabis gummies to a 16 and 17-year-old.
Pruitt was taken into custody without incident and booked with no bond. He was then transferred to the Brown County Jail for safety and security pending his first hearing.
JCSO Chief Deputy Andrew Barnhart said the transfer was “standard for inmates where there are members of the jail staff who may be family or close acquaintances, to ensure complete transparency concerning treatment and procedures.”
