NORTH VERNON, Ind. – The Jennings County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) arrested nine individuals during an active burglary at a Country Squire Lakes residence on Tuesday night, October 14.
Deputies were dispatched to a burglary in progress at around 12:55 a.m. The 911 caller informed Jennings County Dispatch that someone had broken and pushed in an exterior window of a bedroom in the home before the suspects left in a vehicle. A car matching the description of the suspect vehicle was located traveling on County Road 300 North. The car had been stolen from Jackson County.
JCSO and the North Vernon Police Department conducted a high-risk traffic stop on North State Street near Taco Bell. Five adults and four teenage juveniles were detained.
The teens were transported to the Sheriff’s Office to await legal guardians. All adults were immediately interviewed on scene and were remanded to jail staff.
Below are the adults who were arrested and their charges: on each of their own respective preliminary charges.
- Koltin Martinez, 22, of Seymour – Attempted Residential Entry (Level 6 Felony), Criminal Mischief (B Misdemeanor), and Contributing to the delinquency of a minor (A Misdemeanor)
- Zella Watkins, 18, of Seymour – Possession of a Stolen Vehicle (Level 6 Felony) and Minor Consumption (C Misdemeanor)
- Mikkah McCory, 19, of North Vernon – Minor Consumption (C Misdemeanor) and Possession of a Legend Drug (Level 6 Felony)
- Allan Olmos, 20, of Seymour – Minor Consumption (C Misdemeanor)
- Jason Griffith Jr, 18, of Seymour – Minor Consumption (C Misdemeanor)
All of the suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
