COLUMBUS, Ind. – Original (8:20 a.m.): The Columbus Police Department (CPD) arrested a local man who crashed his vehicle into the Cork Liquor Store at 1204 Washington St. in Columbus on Wednesday, October 15.
The mishap appeared to have damaged some of the bricks on the left side of the building’s front and caused damage to the car’s front and hood. The driver was arrested and led away in handcuffs by Columbus Police officers following the crash.
UPDATE (10/16 11:43 a.m.): According to CPD, the driver, Tyler Connor, 39, of Columbus, initially left the scene but returned shortly thereafter.
The suspect allegedly failed multiple field sobriety tests and was taken into custody.
Connor was remanded to the Bartholomew County Jail on preliminary charges of:
- Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated
- Leaving the Scene of an Accident.
No injuries were reported.
