NORTH VERNON, Ind. – The Jennings County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) took five local individuals into custody during a Sex Offender registry blitz on Wednesday, October 29.
Deputies checked the homes of all 80 registered sex offenders in Jennings County. The purpose of the blitz was to ensure compliance with all Sex Offender registry rules and regulations.
JCSO arrested five men for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender (Level 5 Felony). They include:
- Scot Smith, 54, of North Vernon
- Ryan Smigelski, 37, of North Vernon
- Chad Smallwood, 51, of North Vernon
- Roy Fields, 50, of Butlerville
- Justin Owens, 31, of North Vernon
