NORTH VERNON, Ind. – The North Vernon Police Department (NVPD) conducted a traffic stop on Thursday, October 30, that led to a large methamphetamine arrest.
NVPD Task Force Officer Vogel pulled over a vehicle near the intersection of West O&M Avenue and U.S. 50 that resulted in the apprehension of 33-year-old Blake Schultz of Jennings County.
During the stop, K-9 Creed conducted a free-air sniff and alerted to the presence of narcotics. A probable-cause search of the car led to the discovery of a magnetic box concealed within a rusted area of the truck’s cab.
Inside the box, officers found several baggies allegedly containing a crystallized substance and marijuana. One baggie, weighing approximately 7.7 grams, field-tested positive for meth. The total combined weight of the supposed methamphetamine seized was 23.63 grams.
Schultz was transported to the Jennings County Jail without incident.
