DEARBORN COUNTY, Ind. – Charges were filed against two men for organizing a “juvenile fight club” in Sunman, Indiana, on Wednesday, October 29.
The Dearborn County Sheriff’s Department received a tip that a East Central Middle School student was allegedly participating in fights. Additionally, an Indiana Gaming Commission Officer received a complaint about a “fight club” with juveniles actively participating in fights. Upon reviewing eight YouTube videos, the Gamming Officer observed young people, some believed to be under 18, as well as adults participating in fighting matches.
Detectives interviewed a 14-year-old student at East Central Middle School who claimed he participated in fighting in Dearborn County, and that he was injured from a boxing match. The fights took place in the area of Schwipps and Chalk Road, and the metal cage in the videos was still present in the field. Nolan Roberts and Damien Foster, who were allegedly involved in conducting and promoting these boxing matches, were able to be identified and charged.
Both were charged with Failing to Obtain a Gaming License. Bond was set at $5,000 cash, and their next court date is a pre-trial set for December 4th.
