COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man on drug charges with the aid of a K9 partner on November 15.
Deputy Dylan Prather was in the area of River Road and E County Road 550N when he observed that the driver of a vehicle was not wearing a seat belt. A traffic stop was initiated.
During the pullover, K9 Frizko produced a positive alert on the car. A search was conducted on the vehicle and the occupants. The passenger, Jeremy Cox, 45, of Shelbyville, was allegedly found to have concealed about 30 grams of methamphetamine on his person. He was taken into custody and transported to the Bartholomew County Jail.
Cox was booked on the charges of:
- Possession of Meth
- Possession of Marijuana
- Possession of Paraphernalia
The suspect remains in custody on a 72-hour hold. This is a preliminary investigation. All persons are innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
