NORTH VERNON, Ind.– The North Vernon Police Department (NVPD) made two arrests in connection with an active arrest warrant on Wednesday, November 19.
At approximately 1 p.m., Officers went to a residence at around 1 p.m. and spoke with a male who they believed to have an active warrant.
During the encounter, the individual provided officers with a false name. He was eventually identified as Donald Friley, 58, of Butlerville.
The suspect was confirmed to have an active warrant out of Decatur County related to an original charge of larceny. He was taken into custody without incident.
While detaining Friley, a second man arrived on the scene. He was identified as Daniel Perry, 66, of North Vernon. During the interaction, NVPD observed Perry repeatedly placing his hands in his pockets. For officer safety, a pat-down was conducted, during which drug-related items were located.
