COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) delivered all donations from its Pack A Patrol Car food drive on Friday.
Over the past three weekends, the Sheriff’s Office collected non-perishable food items to donate to the Love Chapel Food Pantry and Salvation Army in Columbus.
Donations sites were the Columbus Kroger, Sam’s Club and Jay C as well as in the lobby at BCSO and the Bartholomew County Courthouse.
This year’s drive was a record year with approximately 7,200 pounds of assorted food collected, an increase of 3,200 pounds from last year’s drive.
Sheriff Chris Lane said, “What a response from our community. This year with the record amount of donations goes to show the great community we have here in Bartholomew County. I thank the local grocery stores that allowed us to accept the goods at their locations and the community for their support in helping those in need during the holiday season.”
