COLUMBUS, Ind. – Following a two-day jury trial, Jaison Simpson was found guilty of Robbery (Level 5 felony) on Wednesday, November 19.
In response to a possible theft, officers with the Columbus Police Department (CPD) responded to the Village Pantry at 3184 Washington Street on October 9, 2024.
Following an investigation by CPD, Jaison Simpson was charged with Level 5 Felony Robbery.
Charges were filed against Simpson on June 4, 2025. A jury trial was held on November 18-19, wherein the victim and members of the Columbus Police Department and the Monroe County High Tech Crime Unit testified.
After approximately one hour of deliberating, the jury returned a verdict, finding Simpson guilty. Bartholomew County Superior Court 1 Judge Jim Worton set sentencing for December 16.
