COLUMBUS, Ind.–Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a Columbus home Monday afternoon in response to a domestic situation. The Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office says the female caller claimed she had been battered and confined by Bradley Burgan, 37, of Columbus, and that he had taken her two-year-old son and left the scene.
Investigators learned from the woman that an argument the night before had led to the physical altercation. Burgan returned to the home with the child while authorities were on the scene and he was arrested without incident. Officers transported the suspect to the Bartholomew County Jail on preliminary charges of domestic battery in the presence of a minor and criminal confinement.
Burgan remains incarcerated in lieu of $15,000 bond.
