SEYMOUR, Ind. – It was a tight race at the top but the Seymour Fire Department (SFD) has crowned its champion in its 2023 Mustache Contest. And, the winner for best mustache is Asst. Chief Anthony Walker, by 26 votes.
Walker tallied 1586 votes, edging out runner-up, firefighter Reid Wieneke, who finished with 1560.
A total of 6,442 votes were cast for 15 participants at $1 each. That means SFD was able to raise $6,442 to be donated to the Schneck Cancer Center.
The Seymour Fire Department thanks every firefighter who took part by growing a mustache and all who sent in their votes. The contest exceeded the fundraising goal. SFD is honored to serve a great community and is proud to support the fight against cancer.
Asst. Chief Walker was awarded the “Mustatue,” which will be his for 365 days and then passed on to next year’s winner.
