COLUMBUS, Ind. – Heritage Fund-Bartholomew County (HFBC) recently awarded $45,476 in grants from its Community Fund to local nonprofit organizations as part of its fourth-quarter grants cycle.
Through the generous support of community members, HFBC annually distributes about $600,000 to $700,000 in grants to local nonprofits from the unrestricted Community Fund. These grants help to meet emerging needs in Bartholomew County in the areas of Youth Development, Arts/Culture/Architecture/Design, Downtown Vibrancy, and Responsive Community Needs.
The Heritage Fund’s 2024 quarterly grants deadlines are March 1, June 1, September 1, and December 1.
Fourth-quarter 2023 Community Fund grant recipients announced Friday were:
- Love Chapel – $16,700 to support website development and support
- Indiana University Columbus – $12,150 to support iEngage civics camp
In addition to Community Fund grants, other awards went to:
- Leadership Bartholomew County – $995 for program scholarships
- Game Changer, Inc. – $2,500 to support a documentary on The Republic newspaper
- Indiana University Foundation – $200 to support IU Columbus Pride Pantry
- International Community Development Inc. of Columbus – $750 to sponsor MLK Day 2024
- kidscommons – $1,000 sponsorship for Carnivale
