COLUMBUS, Ind. — The annual Ethnic Expo has been endorsed as an Indiana Bicentennial Legacy Project.
The Indiana Bicentennial Commission endorsed the event, which will be featured on the commission’s official website.
Local organizers say it allows them a new way to promote the Ethnic Expo.
“We are honored to be recognized as an Indiana Bicentennial Legacy Project. The increased exposure will open up more opportunities to enhance the event,” honorary chairperson Pam Lienhoop said. She is the wife of Columbus Mayor Jim Lienhoop.
Since 1984, the Ethnic Expo has included two days of music, food and fun that highlights a different culture each year.
The 2016 Ethnic Expo will be Oct. 7 and 8 this year, and the host country will be announced in the coming weeks.
