BARTHOLOMEW COUNTY, Ind. — Sheriff’s deputies responded to a complaint of an erratic driver Wednesday evening on northbound Interstate 65.
The deputy observed a white van driving onto the breakdown lane and returning to the travel lane several times before initiating a traffic stop. The suspect vehicle slowed down but would not stop. With the assistance of Edinburgh Police, the deputy was able to stop the vehicle and arrest the driver, James W. Long, 52, of Mt. Pleasant, Mich.
Several syringes, marijuana, and a pill were located in the vehicle, as well as a syringe in Long’s pocket.
Long was taken to Bartholomew County Jail.
