SEYMOUR, Ind. – Legal Aid is hosting a free walk-in legal clinic for Jackson County residents on Wednesday, June 5, at the law offices of Montgomery, Elsner, and Pardieck, 308 W. Second St, in Seymour, from 3 to 5 p.m. There is no need to register in advance.
The Legal Aid Clinic and Pro Bono Program utilize local volunteer attorneys, offering free legal consultations to low-income individuals for the provision of legal advice and assistance in furtherance of equal access to justice within our community who might not otherwise be able to afford the counsel of an attorney.
Those in Legal Aid District 11 who come to the Jackson County walk-in clinic this Wednesday will receive a 10-minute consultation where an attorney will answer general questions, offer legal information, and give other limited assistance or advice.
From 3 to 4 p.m., the June 7 walk-in clinic focuses on general advice like wills, divorce, custody, etc. And, attendees can get legal advice on evictions and landlord negotiations from 4 to 5 p.m.
