HOPE, Ind. – The Town of Hope hosted its annual Groundhog Day celebration on Sunday on the Hope Town Square. Although overcast, the sun peeked through so “Hope the groundhog” unfortunately saw her shadow. According to legend, that means six more weeks of winter for south-central Indiana.
Several visitors met “Hope” from Utopia Wildlife Rehabilitators and took photos with the star of the day.
The after-party featured music, hot drinks, and snacks at the Yellow Trail Museum/Hope Visitors Center.
Groundhog Day in Hope is held each year whether it is raining, snowing, sleeting, or bitterly cold.
The event was live-streamed on the Main Street of Hope Facebook page.
