COLUMBUS, Ind. – After closing its doors three-and-one-half years ago, the building that housed the once popular Musillami’s Drive-In was seen being demolished on Tuesday morning.
The restaurant on State Road 11 South was a staple in Columbus each spring, summer, and early fall from 1957 to 2021.
It is speculated that the precast company, located next door at 895 Jonesville Rd., in Columbus, bought the property.
Musillami’s Drive-In announced in November 2021 that they were closing and the owners were retiring. Owner Mike Musillami said at that time, “We regret to announce we will not reopen. This has been a bitter-sweet decision, but it’s time to retire. We will miss all of you. No one has had better friends and patrons. Thank you for 64 amazing seasons.”
