TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Special Olympics Indiana Summer Games return to Terre Haute from June 6-8, bringing over 5,000 athletes, Unified partners, coaches, volunteers, and spectators to the campuses of Indiana State University and Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.
Offering three days of competition, achievement, friendship, fun, and ceremony, the 2025 Summer Games will feature 2,400 athletes participating in seven Olympic-type sports: bocce, bowling, cycling, powerlifting, swimming, track and field, and volleyball.
Alongside the competition, the 2025 Summer Games offer other events and opportunities for athletes and their families. Opening Ceremonies features a parade of athletes, live entertainment, and the lighting of the cauldron to kick off the weekend at Indiana State’s Hulman Center. This year’s Olympic Town will include pickleball instruction and demonstrations.
All activities during the annual Summer Games are free and open to the public. Volunteers are still needed to support all aspects of the Games.
