SEYMOUR, Ind. – With a blend of vision, compassion, and tireless effort, the 2024-2025 Leadership Jackson County (LJC) class has officially graduated, marking the culmination of a transformative year of leadership development and community engagement.
This year’s class leaves behind a legacy of impactful projects that will benefit Jackson County for many years.
Each year, LJC participants work in teams to identify and address real-world challenges within the community, culminating in creative and purposeful projects. The 2024-2025 class has once again raised the bar, showcasing remarkable teamwork and dedication.
As the class crosses the finish line, their projects stand as a testament to the power of leadership, collaboration, and civic responsibility. The LJC program continues to be a beacon for shaping future leaders and enhancing the quality of life for all who call Jackson County home.
Here are the contributions of the graduating class:
- Health Team – Empowering Motherhood – Team Members Grace Otte, Amber Kessler, Lisa Vermillion, Les Chase, and Megan Sinclair organized Empowering Motherhood, a wellness event supporting prenatal care and providing vital resources to expectant mothers and families
- Community Growth/Awareness – Seymour Park and Recreation Guide Team Members: Katie Leitzman, Randall Rust, Emily Goens, Jaylyn Stam, and Lisa Williams developed a Seymour Park and Recreation Guide—a user-friendly resource highlighting park locations and seasonal activities
- Social Concerns Team – Crossroads of Culture – Team Members: Brandon Joray, Kristin Norman, Jacquie Bryant, Heather Keith, and Megan Grunden hosted Crossroads of Culture, a community event held April 5 at Seymour Middle School, celebrating diversity and inclusion
- History Team – The Forgotten – Team Members: Amanda Barlow, Shelby Guinn, Sherri Fishburn, J.C. Blankenbeker, and Logan Miser launched The Forgotten, a project uncovering and preserving the unique historical landmarks and stories from the county’s 12 townships
