COLUMBUS, Ind. – If you are feeling stretched as a caregiver, Powerful Tools for Caregivers is an educational series designed to provide you with the tools you need to take care of those in your care while also taking care of yourself. It is offered free of charge starting later this month.
This Thrive Alliance program helps family caregivers reduce stress, improve self-confidence, better communicate feelings, balance their lives, enhance their ability to make tough decisions, and locate helpful resources.
Powerful Tools for Caregivers consists of six classes held once a week. Interactive lessons, discussions, and brainstorming sessions provide caregivers with a kit of “tools” to put into action, as needed. Participants receive a copy of The Caregiver Helpbook, developed specifically for the class.
The 90-minute sessions will be held every Monday from September 15 through October 20 at 4:30 p.m. in the second-floor conference room of the Doug Otto United Way Center, 1531 13th Street in Columbus.
For more information or to register for the Thrive Alliance Powerful Tools for Caregivers series, call 812-372-6918, extension 2402, by September 12.
