MORGAN COUNTY, Ind. – Green Township Fire and Rescue responded to a Morgan County barn fire in the 6400 block of Maple Grove Road on Tuesday just after 9 p.m. Eight other agencies, including the Bargersville Fire Department, assisted in extinguishing the blaze.
When firefighters arrived, the fire was already well-involved. Crews begin fire suppression with a defensive attack as portions of the structure were beginning to collapse.
The pole barn was approximately 7,000 square feet and held contents consisting of hay, straw, and equipment.
Over 30 personnel from various agencies worked for about three hours to contain the blaze. The barn sustained heavy damage, and the contents were a total loss.
One firefighter was slightly hurt, but there were no injuries to civilians.
