COLUMBUS, Ind.– The Joint Narcotics Enforcement Team (JNET) has closed a methamphetamine distribution case in Bartholomew County that resulted in two people jailed on felony charges.
JNET had been looking into information that Jami Martin, 67, was possibly dealing methamphetamine from his home in the 5100 block of W Ohio Ridge Road in Columbus. Through their investigations, enough evidence was gathered to arrest Martin for dealing meth as a level 2 felony.
Law enforcement officers stopped Martin, who was driving a vehicle near US 31 and I-65 on Tuesday. They took Martin into custody and allegedly located suspected meth in his pocket. Martin’s passenger, Michelle Jessie, 50, of Columbus, was also arrested after suspected marijuana and suspected meth were supposedly found when they searched her at the jail.
Investigators served a search warrant at Martin’s house, and more suspected meth and marijuana were reportedly found.
