NORTH VERNON, Ind. – The North Vernon Police Department (NVPD) arrested a local woman wanted under an active arrest warrant at the Walmart, 2410 N State Hwy 3 in North Vernon, on Saturday, October 4.
Officers were dispatched to Walmart at around 3 p.m. and located Ashley Walters, who was confirmed to have an active Jennings County Failure to Appear warrant. She allegedly became verbally uncooperative and attempted to physically resist law enforcement. NVPD placed her in handcuffs before securing her in a patrol car.
Walters was transported to the Jennings County Jail without further incident. All subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
