COLUMBUS, Ind. – River Valley Legal Aid/Pro Bono Indiana presents a free Legal Walk-In Clinic this Tuesday, October 28, from 3 to 5 p.m., at Bartholomew County Public Library, 536 5th St., in Columbus.
The program utilizes local volunteer attorneys to offer free legal consultations to low-income individuals. The clinics offer legal advice and assistance to provide equal access to justice to those who might not be able to afford the counsel of an attorney.
Individuals participating in the no-cost Legal Aid Walk-In Clinic will receive a 10-minute in-person consultation on a civil matter on a first-come, first-served basis. You don’t need to register in advance.
Get free legal advice on civil legal matters, including adoptions, family law (child support modification, custody, divorce, parenting time), guardianships, landlord/tenant (evictions, habitability issues), powers of attorney, protective orders, simple wills, and small estates. Criminal law questions will not be answered.
Legal Aid serves low-income residents in Bartholomew, Johnson, Jackson, Jennings, Shelby, Decatur, and Brown Counties in Indiana.
