COLUMBUS, Ind. – The City of Columbus/Bartholomew County Planning Department is hosting a public open house on the Columbus and Bartholomew County transportation system at City Hall on Wednesday, November 19, from 4 to 7 p.m.
CAMPO (the Columbus Area Metropolitan Planning Organization), supported by the Planning Department, manages transportation planning and the use of Federal transportation project funding throughout Bartholomew County, including the regular update of the county-wide transportation plan. This plan is a prerequisite to continue to receive federal funds to assist with transportation construction projects throughout the community.
The Columbus and Bartholomew County long-range Transportation Plan will focus on the next 25 years and will be updated every five years. It will evaluate development trends and capacity and review possible funding sources, including grants.
The plan will also take into account the recent update to the Columbus Bike/Pedestrian Plan, the Transit Route Study, and the Safety Action Plan.
If you drive, walk, run, bike, or take the bus, they want to hear your opinion.
Take the survey here. It will be available until February 1, 2026.
