COLUMBUS, Ind. – Vickie Michael has announced her intent to run for Bartholomew County Auditor in the local 2026 election.
Michael currently serves as the Employee Resource Administrator for Bartholomew County, reporting directly to the Board of Commissioners and working closely with departments across county government. She previously worked for three years in the Bartholomew County Auditor’s Office.
Before joining the county government, Michael spent over 30 years as the General Manager of her family’s business, Skooter’s Family Restaurant.
“As an employee of the Commissioners and a former employee of the Auditor’s Office, I understand the information and support our County Council, Elected Officials, and Department Heads need to make well-informed financial decisions for taxpayers,” Michael said. “My goal is to lead with integrity, accuracy, and a commitment to service.”
Michael says her candidacy is driven by her passion for serving others, ensuring strong financial stewardship, and supporting the employees and departments that work daily on behalf of the community.
