EDINBURGH, Ind. – “Wreaths Across America” arrived in Edinburgh on Tuesday for the special program taking place this Saturday, December 13, at Rest Haven Cemetery, led by American Legion Post 233 in Edinburgh.
The community is invited to the ceremony before the wreaths are placed at noon on Saturday at the entrance of Rest Haven Cemetery.
Wreaths, sponsored by local citizens, are placed at the gravesites by “Wreaths Across America” to honor the memory of a loved one who served in the U.S. Armed Forces.
Join the more than two million “Wreaths Across America” volunteers and supporters who will gather this Saturday to Remember, Honor, and Teach at more than 5,200 participating locations in all 50 states.
Local graves have been marked in recognition of service. Over 1,200 were identified and flagged to receive a wreath. If a family is uncertain if their loved one’s resting place has been marked, call Rest Haven Cemetery at 812-526-3529 to see if their family member was identified as a veteran at the time of burial.
