COLUMBUS, Ind.– A man wanted on multiple warrants was arrested by Columbus Police Department officers after a foot pursuit on Tuesday evening. Lt. Matt Harris with CPD said officers observed Jose Vera, 31, of Columbus, in the 9000 block of Wexford Court. Law enforcement noted that Vera had multiple warrants for his arrest and they attempted to make contact with him. Vera allegedly began walking away and refused to follow the officers’ commands to stop. Vera then attempted to run around the apartment building to evade the officers but was apprehended a short time later. Vera was transported to the Bartholomew County Jail on numerous preliminary charges and outstanding warrants.
