COLUMBUS, Ind.–The Festival of Lights Parade needs your assistance. On parade day, Saturday, December 1, it takes dozens of volunteers to bring the parade to life.
This year help is needed in order to get every float, walking unit and car into place. Three shifts of assignments are available for different duties.
2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Eight volunteers are needed to serve as staging intersection monitors to ensure no unauthorized traffic gets through. Teenagers, ages 15-18, may volunteer if accompanied by an adult.
3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Twenty helpers are needed to serve in a variety of functions, from checking-in units check to clearing the staging areas. You must be over 18 years of age.
5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Four people are needed to carry banners and walk the one-mile parade route twice. Teens, ages 13-18, are welcome, if accompanied by an adult.
