COLUMBUS, Ind.–Columbus Regional Health will offer screenings for those suffering from chronic heartburn. The disease, sometimes called Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease or GERD, can be triggered by multiple lifestyle habits, including eating large meals, snacking before bedtime, drinking a lot of caffeine, consuming sodas, eating tomato-based or spicy foods, and drinking alcohol. Even if you are successfully treating the heartburn with over-the-counter medications, frequent symptoms can lead to serious conditions.
Those suffering from frequent heartburn are encouraged to visit www.crh.org/burn or call 812-993-0638, to learn more and fill out the free screening questionnaire. A nurse navigator at the Endoscopy Center at Columbus Regional Health will answer calls and review the questionnaire to determine the next course of action.
