TAYLORSVILLE, Ind.–An Indianapolis drug bust by Indiana State Police earlier this week, which resulted in the recovery of over 50 pounds of methamphetamine with a street value of nearly $1 million, eventually led investigators to a home near Taylorsville.
Columbus Police Department spokesperson Lt. Matt Harris says CPD officers, deputies from the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Department, and detectives from the Joint Narcotics Enforcement Team raided a residence in the 9900 block of Daniel Drive East on Tuesday afternoon. Meth and cocaine were allegedly found inside the home and the two women discovered at the house were arrested.
Both suspects were remanded to the Bartholomew County Jail on the preliminary charges listed below.
- Laura Rodriguez-de La Paz, 41, of Columbus: dealing in meth, possession of meth, maintaining a common nuisance, and possession of drug paraphernalia
- Joana Ramirez Castro, 33, of Columbus: visiting a common nuisance
