COLUMBUS, Ind. — Columbus Regional Health has received a Mission: Lifeline Receiving Center Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award for treating severe heart attack patients.
CRH earned the award for providing quick and appropriate emergency procedures to re-establish blood flow to blocked arteries when needed. A specific standard is to provide a door-to-device time of less than 90 minutes. Columbus Regional Health achieved the standard more than 75 percent of the time.
Every year, more than 250,000 people suffer a severe cardiac event that requires blocked vessels to be opened, either mechanically or with medication.
