INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — A report from the office of the Indiana Secretary of State says 58 percent (2.8 million of 4.8 million) of registered Hoosiers voted in the 2016 general election. Early voting accounted for 33 percent of the total ballots cast.
In 2008, 62 percent of those registered, voted.
Decatur, LaGrange and Whitely Counties led the state with 71 percent turnout. Hendricks, Vermillion and Wells Counties were second with 70 percent.
